This is a nice hike. The lake isn't much to look at. It's pretty small. The trailhead to the lake is about 3.5 miles I think, so not a long hike. I hadn't punished myself enough so I kept going up from the lake off trail to the top of a peak that gps shows was about 10,821 feet. It also gave me a fairly good look at Diamond Peak (or the back side of it anyway) that I was going to try and hike the next week. Mostly I wanted to check the snow conditions on it. That off trail hike was pretty fun and the area above the lake is interesting.
