Cervidae is just outside of Boise. I have done this one 3 or 4 times before but this was the first time going another way besides the standard southern trail off of Arrow Rock Rd. Basically this trail has the same elevation gain as the other trail but less than half the distance, so it's fairly steep most of the way. There were a few sections that you need to be careful on, especially while going down to keep from slipping, but otherwise it wasn't too bad at all. I had clouds overhead blocking the sun most of the time which helped quite a bit. This is worth going up at least once for people who like doing Cervidae and have only gone the normal way.
